ABOUT HANNAH

Hi! I’m Hannah and I am currently studying political science and media studies at UC Berkeley. During my time here, I have spent 4 semesters working with both The Daily Californian and the Associated Students of the University of California (ASUC) where I have honed in and developed my social media and public relations skills in a smaller political and educational realm. While I focus mainly on writing drafts and short-form articles to increase outreach on social media, I like to dabble in graphic and user interface design to visually reflect my marketing ideas.

DESINV 98

Introduction to Human-Centered Design

Using the Figma application I created an app mockup to improve the off-campus housing search experience for college students. Utilizing usability testing and surveys, I picked a few common pain points of Berkeley housing being “time-consuming”, “overwhelming”, and “competitive”. Students are busy and can not make time between classes to tour homes. The search experience also takes up a significant amount of time so this is an experiment that minimizes the housing competition, yet maximizes communication.

KEY CLUB

Additionally, I teamed up with the Kiwanis Club of Folsom Lake to leverage my graphic design abilities for the betterment of my high school community service club. Though these initial designs were crafted during my high school years, they set the artistic foundation for me to dip my toes into the world of graphic design. These graphics were made for the @oakridgekc Instagram account.
